Steadfast and elegant, it is the original ultra
light Wilier Triestina monocoque. The 990 gram
frame, unmistakable in its classical geometry, is
the result of a balanced mix of carbon fibers with
specific mechanical properties of resistance and
elasticity. Now in its fourth season in the
Wilier line, it remains the favorite of the Lampre
Fondital team (www.lampre‑fonditalcom). In 2001, the
Le Roi
was ridden to victory in the Tour of Flanders, two
Giro d'Italia stages (one sprint and one uphill time
trial), two Tour de France stages, including the
prestigious Champs-Elysees stage, the Vattenfall
Cyclassic of Hamburg, and two sprint stages in the
Vuelta a Espana, thus proving its ability to excel
on all types of terrain and with all styles of
riding. The Chrome/Copper paint scheme
utilizes an exciting new application of a process
called Physical Vapor Deposition or PVD, in which a
vaporized form of chromium is deposited in a thin
film on the surface of the carbon by condensation.
The result is an indestructible bond and a stunning
chrome finish on a carbon fiber frame. The process
complies with CEE regulations and does not produce
any harmful waste
