In the fall of 2006, Wilier Triestina and Team Lampre Fondital acquired the services of aerodynamics guru John Cobb to work with Damiano Cunego on his time trial position. John Cobb is famous for having developed the positions of Lance Armstrong and Greg LeMond.  They chose Mr. Cobb's preferred test lab, the Texas A&M Low Speed Wind Tunnel, used by Harley Davidson among others.  The objective for the session was to put Damiano Cunego through a set of meticulous air flow tests to find the best possible solutions for equipment, position, and biomechanics to improve his chances in stage race time trials.
